Tarolyn Mckinney, celebrated as a founding Women Solve Warrior of the Seed to Roots program, embarked on her advocacy journey in Miami, FL, before moving to Frederick in 2013. Her transition marked the beginning of an influential chapter with PURE Love Inc. in Walkersville, where she launched initiatives to support underserved youth and families. Through her leadership, afterschool and summer programs flourished, including a significant partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Frederick County, culminating in the development of after-school programs across four middle schools in the Frederick County Public Schools system.
Tarolyn’s commitment to community integrity led her to the Walkersville Ethics Committee, reinforcing her dedication to principled governance. Her influence extended to Frederick City, where she served in critical roles within the NAACP, Women’s Democratic League, and Education Commission Committee. Her leadership roles continued as President of Justice, the Community Action Board, and her involvement with Mobilize Frederick.
In 2023, as a candidate for State Delegate, Tarolyn exemplified her commitment to public service, a journey she continues in Baltimore City within the Baltimore City Police Department. Beyond her official roles, she amplifies voices on “Next on the Mic,” a podcast providing a platform for discussions on a broad range of critical issues.
As one of the three founders of the Seed to Roots program, Tarolyn Mckinney is not just a participant but a pivotal force behind this initiative.
